I didn’t at the moment – I was more focused on the question of the functionality of a country with very low average IQ.

There’s a number of factors that contribute. As I mentioned earlier which you didn’t seem to understand, the 80 is from using a modern IQ test not one appropriate for that era.

Let’s assume that there is a substantial difference between the measured IQs of Americans from the 1930s and those of Americans in 2013.
Do you believe that if Americans from the 1930s had been given an “appropriate” IQ test, they would score basically the same as they do now?
And what would an “appropriate” test be? Would the RPM test be appropriate?

What’s really sad here, is that there are some interesting things to think about regarding this topic if you can get past brazil’s piss poor debating style and reading comprehension. Literacy does affect IQ. That’s pretty measurable, actually. But what does it mean? It may not mean much in regards to actual intelligence. That’s where too may people get tripped up when IQ comes up. IQ does not equal intelligence. If you think about the Flynn Effect for more than a few seconds, that becomes clear.
There’s other factors that come in to play, too. I have already touched on an IQ test bias for industrialized countries due to the Flynn Effect, but we also know that pediatric nutrition plays an important part in intellectual development. Is that a contributing factor in the test score discrepancy? If so, how much? What about the stress caused by poverty? Interesting questions to explore, but brazil is so damn … well, he’s so damn brazil that any hopes of intelligent debate get lost.
