Could it be possible to make a special little rule just for brazil84, enjoining him from mentioning when someone is on his little list? I mean, if it were a real list, he wouldn’t be replying to anyone on it, but his repeated posts about “I don’t reply to X, they’re on my ignore list” in the Pit thread on racialists is just annoying - to the nth degree.

I don’t think so. Such behaviour is explicitly permitted in the pit. Only place where it is allowed, though.

If you don’t like the pit rules, don’t post there. Personally, I think it’s a dreadful place where the worst posters act their worst. I can’t see brazil4’s posts being any worse than standard pit stuff.

I like the Pit rules well enough. Doesn’t mean I can’t suggest new ones (and I’m not restricting this desired proscription to the Pit)

He’s already been told he can’t do this outside the Pit. Annoying as this may be, I think he’s allowed to do it in the Pit for the same reason other posters can disclose who is on their “real” ignore lists.
He’s the guy who always bring the same repulsive three-bean salad (off-colored and smelling vaguely of inappropriate fermentation) to the potluck dinner, which nobody touches and which is dumped into a remote outside trash can the moment he’s no longer looking.
Which is why you never toss one like that other than at an office picnic pick-up game. Do that at a league game and somebody will be duty-bound to launch it into LEO. 
Never having read such a severe rebuke of both a poster AND three-bean salad in the same post .. I beseech mods to corral such vitriol down to the Pit. …hunts for smelling salts…

I think this is a great band name.
There’s a strong qualitative difference between saying someone’s on your ignore list (in a discussion about that person, say), and repeatedly replying to people’s posts in a thread (hence, exactly the opposite of ignoring them) to say that you’re ignoring the person. One is “talking about the ignore list”, the other is some passive-aggressive workaround actually replying to anything substantive, while still getting your own shots in.
I’d have no problem if brazil just used the existing ignore system.
I’m not disputing that it’s annoying, but it’s in the same category of behavior. In the Pit, this is allowed and you’re free to bash away if you see this type of obnoxiousness. You could use your SDMB ignore list in a similar way or just constantly announce to people that you’re ignoring them without your own special website. brazil84 has been told he can’t do this in other forums, so doing it he’s doing it there, he’s violating the ignore list rule and instructions from the mods.
I’m reasonably sure I can be annoying all on my lonesome without the prop of that tired shtick, thanks.
