Breaking Bad 5.02 "Madrigal" 7/22/2012

And again, Mike’s not going to want to pay someone who wants to systematically kill 11 people he’s loyal to. He obviously didn’t relish killing the guy who Lydia put on him, or Chow. So they’re down to 9…10 if you include Mike. That list may still be on the table because she now can negotiate her price. He’s not going to be a happy camper when that negotiation starts between Lydia Walt Jesse and now Mike. Mike is going to want to cut those guys in, because they’ve lost their source of income. Lydia, Walt and Jesse may have other ideas.

Lydia doesn’t need to get paid by Walt. Getting to keep her cushy job and not getting killed is payment enough.

Why do you say “again” when you never said this before? I’ve been trying to squeeze this reasoning out of you for three posts.

I don’t think Mike thinks that Lydia’s going to work for free.

Everyone who was involved was being paid before. I don’t see any reason that anyone is going to expect that people are going to be involved without getting paid now.

I think she will get a small cut and be allowed to live long enough for them to find out her source or make other arrangements. She’s established herself as a dangerous liability and Mike can’t let her live a minute longer than he needs her.

And what about Saul? It’s gonna get a little bit more crowded. (5.03 Preview on Youtube)

You’re a broken record. Move on.

Of course, Saul…Walt’s growing his empire.

I think it might be interesting if they producers show how they deal with the 11 listed. They’ve dealt with 2 so far. Lydia may stay a little longer than expected.

I wouldn’t have had to if you had answered the question the first time.

Definitely in Mike’s eyes, this is why I doubt he’d want to pay her for the privilege of living. That access to the meth ingredient was her ticket to live. His partners may think otherwise and may wish to negotiate

Maybe I’ll just ignore this.

double post

Acsenray, Andiethewestie, I think it’s time to let this disagreement go.

I’ll get a barrel.

Hey Marley, why don’t you ask the troller to please answer the question about how Beneke’s trip was foreshadowed. Ascenray never did answer the question, maybe because the poster was too pre-occupied trying to trip other posters.

He didn’t get a chance, another poster jumped in just a few posts later and said:

The question was answered (by someone else), and he was not trying to trip you up. He asked you to explain your thinking, and it’s time to let the whole thing drop. Do not accuse other posters of trolling unless you are in the Pit, no exceptions.

  1. I wondered why Vince Gilligan kept Walt’s head out of the frame in the scene where he checks on Skyler early in the episode. It just looked odd to have Skyler’s back to the camera and Walt’s head completely out of the picture. Someone mentioned that the scene composition was meant to “dehumanize” Evil Walt by not showing his face - pretty nifty. I wonder if the same thought went into the final scene where he’s mostly in shadows, um, behind Skyler.

  2. Aren’t the chances of a normally vacuumed up cigarette making it into the Roomba’s dust pan intact pretty slim? If Jesse suspects Walt planted the ricin cigarette in the Roomba’s dust pan their whole relationship will unravel. I doubt the show will go this route, though.

  3. From the “fly in the room” discussion on page 4 of this thread: is the gunman’s fly/zipper open in the linked picture? Good catch.

  4. Mike to Walt from next week’s promo: “Just because you shot Jesse James doesn’t make you Jesse James.” Walt’s building his little meth kingpin sandcastle on a beach littered with landmines. I think the only questions are how and when (not if) will he get taken out and who will go with him.
