I’m pretty sure Mike said no more burglary at all. They don’t want any attention to their company by law enforcement. That’s why the crew is getting paid so much.
Yes, he did.
No. They are being paid well to lay off the burglary entirely. Mike does not want the pest control company to face any scrutany from law enforcement for any reason.
This is more or less what I came in here to add… that I was under the impression that the pest guys were not to talk about or steal from the houses that were used by Walt; but I thought it was made fairly clear that this wasn’t going to be every house they fumigated.
True, but Mike specifically told them not to do even that. Probably so they don’t get busted for an unrelated robbery and drag the meth operation into a police investigation.
ETA: Ninja’ed by everyone and their mother. I forget how fast these BB threads move.
When Walt asked the guy who told him about the nanny cam “What’s your name?”, do you think it was appreciation or to mark him as a possible ‘problem guy’?
I thought appreciation and that he was thinking “this dude is smart, he might be valuable to me at some point.”
He’s already auditioning for the new vacancy in the role of son. Walt Jr. wants to be “Flynn” so he’s right out. Jesse is too dangerous and betrayed him with Gus and plus almost killed him. So burglar guy may be the new intern.
The Flynn thing lasted one or two episodes during (I think) the first season.
I don’t think so. He got Jessie to dump Andrea and Brock, so Walt is basically all he has now. He just met Todd. Makes no sense to think of him as nothing more than “smart, potential ally” at some point.
“Flynn” hasn’t been around in a while…
Regarding “Flynn,” I was being tongue-in-cheek, but it’s clear (IMO) that Walt has a much closer relationship with Jesse than his own son. Walt wants Junior to respect him from afar, but purposefully pushes him away if he gets too close (and sees Walt as vulnerable and human).
That’s cuz Jesse is cool and street, and Flynn is just a cripple. ![]()
That’s a really good read on the situation, I either missed or didn’t interpret that the separation of the bug-bombers and Walt/Jesse was Mike’s play for power. I read it as an extra layer of protection for them while they’re cooking. But you’re probably exactly right.
YES!! That’s exactly the way I think about it too, last week it was “already one quarter over” ![]()
My favorite part was the amused look that Walt and Jesse gave each other when Mike was giving the bug guys his speech.
Darn, missed the edit window, I wanted to add this:
I’ll go ahead and lay my prediction down (no spoiler knowledge here, just my thoughts); the flash-forward to incogneto Walt shows us the fallout after Walt has lost everything. He’s on the run (from Madrigal, from the DEA, or possibly from Jesse and Mike). Jesse and Skyler (seperately) have turned completely against him, so he has lost his home, his family, and his business. If he pokes his head back up from cover he’ll be killed or arrested, hence the alias and the, ahem, makeover. Whatever Walt is planning on doing with that giant assault rifle (?) is the beginning of his plan to take back what is “his.” Whatever puts him in that position will go down by the end of episode 8.
I think the we might have to wait longer than that. Assuming that it really does take place on his 52nd birthday, it’s a little over a year in the future from the end of the last episode.
For anyone that listens to the podcast it just came out (a day early) if you listen to some other way then on the website.
It’s an M60 machine gun.
For, uh… duck hunting.
I’ve often thought that this show spends a bit too much money just to spend it. After the first episode they mentioned that in that scene Bryan had used his own hair/beard since he hadn’t shaved it since the last time they shot. Then Vince said if they revisit that scene…which he quickly changed to “Well, of course we’re going to revisit it, I don’t think we could do that and just never come back it it” they’re going to have to have makeup (wardrobe) come up with a wig that looks just like his natural hair.
It seems like he was presenting a challenge just for the hell of it. Why not just shave his head, since they had to do it right away anyways, put a wig on him, then they’ll have the wig ready to go for when they need it. Especially considering that later on, people (that don’t listen to the podcast) may try to figure out if he’s wearing a wig and why it looks different then it did at the beginning of the season.
Anyways, I know I made some predictions earlier in these threads and while I still stand by them, I like this one as well.
Just to clarify, I don’t think we’ll make it to one year in the future by the end of this “season”. I think whatever happens to put him in that position will happen, and he’ll be in that position for the next year (conveniently, for almost exactly a real-time year between seasons)
We won’t make it to his next birthday till the final 8 episodes.
