Her mom was seen briefly when Mike dropped her off at home.
I don’t think that’s really relevant enough to the plot to show, but yeah I was concerned too. Let’s assume he called her mom after he got out of there to pick her up, OK? ![]()
I thought we learned at one point that Kaylee is Mike’s daughter’s kid.
No. There’s a quote from the actor in recent interview where he says something like, at one point we see a lady on the edge of the screen, and I told Vince (creator) 'she may be that girl’s mother, but she’s not my daughter. Part of my character bio for Mike is that he had something bad happen with his son.
So officially, the show takes no stance. Secondary to that, the actor imagines otherwise – which is as close to canon as I need (or will ever get).
Also, to whoever asked it upthread, the cops would have clearly picked her up. They were coming for Mike knowing that he was their with her. After not finding him, they would’ve found and ID’d the girl, and asked her where her grandpa was. Clearly, they would take her home or at minimum contact a parent to pick her up from the station.
They knew Mike was at the park, but do we really know that they knew he was with his granddaughter? Remember, the cops who showed up were most likely those who happened to be in the vicinity of the park when the call went out. To them, she may have been just one kid - out of the several who were there - swinging on a swing.
mmm
They detect. “Are you Kaylee?” And so forth. Or she realizes Gramps is gone, and goes to the cops herself to say she can’t find her grandpa. If DEA put a call into the local PD about grabbing a potentially armed and dangerous perp, they’re going to let them know he’s there with a kid.
And when he’s not there, it would make sense to think that he left with her.
I think we will see Kaylee in the next episode discovering her abandonment…whether it’s at the park or at the police station or Gomez and/or Hank asking her some questions.
BTW: The next episode is “Gliding Over All”, and from the BB Wiki:
Hmmm…how many more deaths?
Maybe another Hank and Walt close call in this upcoming episode as well.
