I thought Walt was setting up the gun on the ground outside the compound.
See… call me contrary, but I kinda didn’t like that. Good finale, but I wish everything wasn’t neatly tied up. I like having loose ends for my imagination to work on.
And Walt did get one more badass science Heisenberg moment, or Heisenberg plus Ash from Army of Darkness. It wasn’t quite as sophisticated as some of his other efforts, but it was cool.
YEAH! Robot guns, Bitch!
Well, we can speculate on what happens to Jesse. Perhaps, as some speculated, he’ll go back to school and become a chemistry teacher.

Me too. I was thinking "There’s no way he can mow down the entire compound with that gun. Putting it in the trunk and parking next to the building was inspired.

I think he just drives straight into his new movie.
Welp. I’m satisfied.
But I was really worried for a minute that Jesse would, after all that, wreck the getaway car and die in a firey crash. And relieved I was wrong about that. Yay!

For one quick moment I expected the car to blow up when Jesse turned the key.

You too, huh? Glad I wasn’t the only one.
LOL - I was afraid for Jessie too.
I think that’s a testament to just how much this show keeps you on the edge of your seat; nothing is out of bounds.
My only complaint is that I wish Walt hadn’t been quite so specific to Lydia about the ricin. It would have been better if he had just asked her if she was having flu-like symptoms and left it there. It felt like they didn’t trust the audience to put it together, even though they made it pretty clear. It also would have left Lydia to puzzle it out, even though she’s hosed either way.
Small quibble in an excellent ending, though.
Is anyone watching the ‘Talking Bad’ follow-up? I don’t think anyone is as happy that Jesse killed Todd as Aaron Paul is.
I’ll say this: the last handful of episodes were really tough to watch a lot of the time. One of the few positive things was that in the midst of a horrible domestic tragedy Flynn turned out to be kind of a tower of strength - he found a strength his parents, and Walt in particular, didn’t have. Maybe you could say he got it from Hank. But when he found out what was going on he did exactly the right things and even looked like he was willing to lay down his life to protect his mother. He wouldn’t listen to Walt or take his money or hear his excuses for a second. He has some terrible stuff to work through, but I walk away feeling he’ll be alright.
What is Flynn going to do in ten months or so when he gets that nine million? Will he realize the ultimate source?

He was very excited about it, wasn’t he? I love that he’s wearing the Vamanos Pest jumpsuit on the show.

Most of the actors seem really nice - Bryan Cranton is very amiable, RJ Mitte is becoming a cool guy and a great advocate on behalf of people with disabilities - but Aaron Paul just seems ridiculously sweet and genuine. It’s very charming. I assume everybody has seen his Price Is Right moment already…

I don’t think so, it would be pretty far fetched to believe that Walt was able to get on caboots with Gray Matter - even though we know that’s what actually happened.

I thought Walt was setting up the gun on the ground outside the compound.
Did he know where the compound was? I assumed that they called him with the address that night, but was he there before to set up the prison hits?
And the twist with the Schwartz’s was nice - Walt’s ability to plan and manipulate allowing him to care for his family.
Because you know the Schwartz’s will be looking over their shoulders for much longer than a year - thinking that Walt will have them knocked even after the money is turned over, but too afraid to go to the police anyway.

Dumb question: The early scene of Jesse in the woodshop; was that a flashback to him in high school?
And Vince said in the Talking Bad program that he deliberately wanted to tie up all the loose ends. I wish other television show writers would follow his example.
I don’t think it was a flashback so much as a mixture of his memory and fantasy and daydream. It was a situation in which he did his best and now he was producing the best Blue that he could. Mentally, he switched gears—maybe for a moment—to that situation. It wasn’t a teen-aged Jesse in the scene. It was him at his current age.
