[The Naval Station Great Lakes was on lockdown Friday morning as authorities looked for a “gate runner” just before a graduation ceremony was set to take place.

Attended my son’s graduation there last April.
Update states that they are proceeding with ceremonies after an hour delay. Nothing too serious, I guess.
Yeah, turns out the authorities had a good idea of who it was. Just some civilian employee who got confused.

The “gate runner” at Naval Station Great Lakes ended up being a worker who was authorized to enter the base but who “did not follow directions of the gate sentry," a base spokesman, John Sheppard, said in a news release. The worker was caught a short time after driving onto the base and was questioned, and his Toyota Camry was also found, officials said.
