the maximum would be 10 ish years of time. doubtful he will get that long. he was acquitted of more serious charges.
Its also his first offence, afaik, and he’s already done about a year of hard time. So maybe a few years more, but not a lifetime.
This is such a weak argument (not against you, My Friend, but the ‘Criminal Justice System’). It was the first time he was convicted. 
So now we should be jailing people for things they are rumored to have done?
In the current RW authoritarian era, it’s wildly irresponsible to suggest anything in the direction of “law and order”. We need to advocate for tbe opposite.
The total criminality the general public might do is a drop in the bucket compared to the criminality a police state will do.

He’s being punished for what he was convicted of. That is exactly “the sentence should fit the crime.”
Being sentenced for the crimes the court decided he did not commit sounds like a very different and bad standard to follow.
I’m sorry, I can muster NO sympathy for his plight.

Any time a celebrity actually goes to jail is an achievement.
Is that counting time served?
He will get 15% off for good behavior (if he behaves) so that is 7.5 months leaving 42.5 months. He has served 12. 5 months leaving 30 months left to be served. However at the end of the sentence there can be up to 12 months in a halfway house or 10% of sentence (5 months in this case) in home confinement.
But there is a good chance he will simply bribe Trump and get out in a few months.
