Brie cheese

Hello. Been enjoying some Brie I bought at Costco. Kirkland brand and very good.

Well, I guess I didn’t eat it fast enough, and now it is very strong. So strong that it is no longer desirable. I hate to toss out food. Is there anyway to resurrect the Brie? So, it is palatable once again?

If it smells like ammonia, there’s no way to fix it. :frowning:

If the flavor has just become too sharp, mix it with something sweet like pepper jelly or brown sugar.

Cutting off the “crust” will help mellow the flavor a little.

Other than that, what MadMonk says is good advice. Sweet flavors help offset the sharpness. If you’ve ever tried baked brie, that’s a good use: put a few spoonfuls of your favorite jam or marmalade on top and wrap in puff pastry. Bake until crispy outside and gooey inside. (Warning: I take no responsibility for what this recipe does to your waistline.)
