The other weekend my parents were going through old family photos, from the mid 19th century, and came across one titled Brigham Young. It’s from the right place - Liverpool - and from the right period - and it very much looks like a picture of Brigham Young Jr except older and more distinguished. And it’s not a print. This has piqued the family interest. The families were big in shipping in Liverpool at the time. BTW bearded, I’m a dead ringer for my great-grandfather.
As an additional point, the family were big supporters of Garibaldi - to the extent of having a dinner service made - and we wonder if there’s an additional connection.
I’ve had a look at Brigham Young University’s website but have not spotted an email address for their archive or history departments. Can some Doper please point me in the right direction?
