Last night after going shopping during the rain storm, the power in my area went out. So, I took a nap, woke up and noticed it was still bright outside. The clock said 10 PM, but outside it looked as if it was early dusk. You’d think it was 5 PM. It didn’t get really dark until midnight. I know it was mostly a full moon, but could the clouds have scattered the moonlight that much to cause this? Why did it large change a few hours later.
Are you near a large city? I’ve noticed that low clouds increase skyglow from nearby Phoenix dramatically.
