Brisbane Dopefest! Coming to a town near you! No.. wait....

Mmmmm… Turkish. My favourite restaurant was a Turkish one. Until it closed down. Hmpf.

What is the one at Southbank called?

Hope you can come!

The date is not a big issue for me (consults diary which is blank) so if we could accommodate our southern friend that would be great.

Dammit - I can’t make it on the 30th.

I would suggest a Sydney dopefest as well but I’m afraid someone might suggest I organise it.

Ooh that is great - I can put mine a glass next to yours and park my walking frame in the corridor :stuck_out_tongue:
Somewhere in mid Bris suits me as well - central and cheap and after the 21st. Dinner is fine as well.
Thanks for offering Mr P as child sitter Primaflora, I will email you about it

Rules:

No swapping glasses with dentures in them.

All Uni students must immediately respect old fogies (Hey- it’s my one chance)

Somene else has to mix the Horlicks with the warm milk so I can nap after 7 pm.

Should I book airfare? Do I look for an inner city hotel?

Yes! By all means! It’s definately going ahead.

Silentgoldfish, can you please post the date, time and venue of the gathering?

Cheers,
Max

**Brisbane Dopefest

Saturday, October 30th

7 PM, Ahmet’s Turkish Restaurant* (come hungry!)**

*Shop 10, 164 Little Stanley St, Southbank

Pretty sure that’s the right one, there’s two of them. I’ll double check but they’re both in Southbank and the date and time are pretty much locked in now unless it needs to be a little later.

Do they sell junket and other soft foods? I need to think of my colostemy bag.

Burnt Sugar and I shall test it out (again) just to make sure I’m talking about the right restaurant. I’ll let you know.

I found $59 Virgin Blue tickets both ways. I am in to Brisbane at 4:25 on the Saturday and leave on Monday. I’ll book a room in a couple of weeks when standbys are available. See you soon.

Do we have to go out for dinner again? Tough life.

The restaurant we’ve been to is in West End, anyway. It’s probably better than Southbank from the parking point of view. And I remember it had quite a nice ambience. Yeah, we better check it out again. Heh.

But south bank would be a lot better from a public transport perspective.

True, although we would have no problem picking people up from the station or bus stop. Although, I’d feel for you, having to get in our bombs!

I think you’ll be okay. If you want to come though, you have to promise to cut up my dinner because Mummy won’t let me handle a knife yet.

Can’t come, sorry. I have a friend visiting from Honkers and that’s the only night she’s here.

Ah Met is not bad, very much the big table/birthday type place. Food and service can be slow. Very popular. I’d say that it has slightly better food than…

…Caravanserai which is probably the Turkish place in West End you were thinking of, BS. They are pretty comparable in all other respects.

On a Sat. night they both have belly dancers, which I detest. Ho, ho, let’s embarrass the white guy by making him dance. What a jolly jape

If you do arrange to do Caravanserai, I may stick my head in for a few moments. I live a couple of hundred yards away.

Caravanserai works OK for me – I didn’t think about parking at Southbank because I never do think about parking.

I should add that I’d be embarrassed if you changed your plans on my account.
