So we haven’t had a Dopefest in Phoenix for awhile. It’s been at least four years, as far as I know. Anyone interested?
I figure it’d be good to plan it for sometime in the next two or three months, before it starts getting warmer and then downright hot. Feb/March works for me. Even April, probably…depending on who can join us when and when the best time would be to get the most people able to attend.
I live in Phoenix and primarily mean this to be a Phoenix area fest (as in, we meet somewhere in here Phoenix), but SoCal, Las Vegas, New Mexican dopers are invited as well. Really, any doper is if you live on this earth.
Who thinks they could attend one if it was in the new few months? What month and time of month is best for those interested?
Not a huge deal. If anyone is super spontaneous, I’m free for lunch or dinner on Friday or lunch on Sunday. Staying somewhereish near Scottsdale, but I’ll have a car, and absolutely nothing better to do than get drunk in my hotel room and shout at HGTV for giving homeowners false information and bad ideas. Or watch the Kardashians. Or gastric bypass surgery.
Really? Then I could recommend to have a small mini-fest on Saturday the 24th to test the place with me offering fisha a chocolate chip cookie with sea salt from the bar. (It really tastes much better that what it sounds), this quick meet will be in addition to the big one being planned on March.
No reservations needed, I will put a small sign with something like “Cecil Adams SD forum group” on one of the tables (reading/service area) in the The Commons/First Draft Book, it is the one that is next to the coffee shop/bar after entering the bookstore. I will be the Hispanic guy with glasses.
