Britdopers - What in the world is this???

It’s a dull, slow Friday, so instead of working I’m trolling around YouTube. I happened to find this.

Um…WTF???

I’m guessing it’s british 'cuz they’re doing the ever-popular-among-british-comedians high-pitched “Monty Python Pepperpot” voice. But…what is it??

It’s Reeves and Mortimer. I’m not sure which of their shows it was - as I recall those characters have appeared in a few.

As for whether I like them or not I really can’t make up my mind. Sometimes I do sometimes I don’t. They’re sorta bizarre I guess.

AKA Vic & Bob. Just brilliant.

Sorry if that’s not a good enough explanation, but I’m too busy laughing at the clip

Fffttt, you did watch it through to the credits, didn’t you? The ones which start “The Smell of Reeves and Mortimer”? :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s from The smell of Reeves and Mortimer - it was a collection of surreal comic sketches; some of them worked better than others, some of them have aged better than others, but they were all pretty absurd.

this one is more representative of their material:

Again, I’m laughing, and I can’t tell you why. I guess that makes them the heirs of the Python role?

Here’s another, a distillation of what seems like a thousand years worth of Carry On films…http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KNgkKxeFQ64

Oh, and here’sMasterchef

I wish Shooting Stars was on DVD.

Shooting Stars (absurdist game show) was the most accessible and probably the best thing they did. Can’t find much on YouTube, but here’s a brief clip of Vic & Bob taking their quizmaster roles as seriously as ever. They would sometimes do stuff like this, apropos of absolutely nothing, right in the middle of the game.
