Britney carted off to the crazy house.

DiosaBellissima, didn’t I see you on youtube?

I kid, I kid.

I feel really sorry for her kids. I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. They need to be fostered out to some family on a farm in the middle of Iowa, learning about how normal families live without mom or dad flipping out on a daily basis.

If she doesn’t end up dead I see her future as a porn star. Sorry.

LOL

I don’t want to start a fight, especially with you, mon petit, but that doesn’t men you aren’t off your rocker either.

Have you BEEN to Iowa?

But yes, the kids need to be fostered and she needs to be spayed.

And I doubt she’ll live long enough to think about what to do in the future, don’t you?

One of Roseann Barr’s old sayings comes to mind: “This is what happens when white trash gets money.”

Funny you mention that. I’m frankly amazed that with her issues that there hasn’t been some horribly nasty tape that’s come out yet. She’s clearly succeptable to such things and she’d be easy prey for some total scumbag to make a quick million or more off of.

It’s one thing to call Britney, and those like her, attention whores. So what do we call the sharks that prey on the attention whores? And no, not the just the media frenzy surrounding Britney’s ambulance, but everyone who buys their trash, be it the news producers, tabloid editors, as well as the consumers at the end of the line?

I’m sure there is some sort of psychological attraction for everyone here, at the very least “glad it’s her and not me.” Still, what does that say about us individually, and collectively, where so many tax dollars (police, fire, ambulance) are spent to what is essentially a private domestic issue?

I went to DiosaBellissima’s link to the YouTube video as the ambulance approached the hospital. Someone with quality video skills could easily morph out words on the ambulance and sign outside the hospital and you could easily mistake the mayhem for some third-world political frenzy. All that would be needed is video showing the wolfpack overturning the ambulance, then mugging for the camera with that insane forefinger/little finger hand gesture and doing a happy dance.

You, with the confusing username - hope you choose to stick around, but I hope you pick a new moniker or I’m going to be super confused.

That’s kind of always been my username on boards. Is there something confusing about it?

Maybe just to me, but we have a long time member named Commasense

There’s just so little of it around, its hard to recognize it anymore for what it is.

No kidding!

That’s a little like saying you need to go into a diabetic coma before diet and exercise will do you any good. Or that you need to have a miraculous recovery from cancer before its worth trying to fight it. Some people will hit “rock bottom” and have a massive heart attack before they wake up and figure out that a diet of steak and cigarettes aren’t good for them - I don’t respect those people either.

Everyone has a different rock bottom as well. I have an alcoholic cousin who left his wife and kids and lives out of a car that doesn’t run. He hasn’t hit rock bottom.

Look at the bright side…

This should put an end to her worries about a custody battle.

I’m with you on this one. Everyone has a family with mental illnesses. That’s what a family is. That doesn’t mean we all have to be so sensitive about everything. I’m sure it’s awful and won’t someone please think of the children but come onnnn it’s Britney! It’s a meltdown! I’m sure I’d be singing a different tune if it were a member of my family but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it. I just don’t absorb every tragedy of everyone in the world. If I did that I would kill myself.

I don’t want to live in a world where I can’t make fun of crazy people! Mental craziness is proof God has a delightfully dark sense of humor.

By the way Diosa, I have a question for you?

If this was your sister, how much tolerance would you have for this behavior? How much sympathy? How long could it go on before you’d say “screw her?” Cause maybe you get to have sympathy because you haven’t been close to it. And tut-tut those of us without sympathy - who had our sympathy long worn out long ago by people much less advantaged than Ms. Spears and much closer to us - in some cases we, ourselves, wore out our own sympathy for this shit - and that was when we got better.

The think that facininates me about Brittney (and La Lohan) is that even as beautiful and talented as she is, even with all that money, with fame, with the ability to snap her fingers and have her problems disappear (at least as much as anyone can), with access to the best possible health care in the world - she is still a screw up - maybe mentally ill, but regardless - a screw up. Makes me feel a hell of a lot better about my family.

'Course, I think I have one benefit they never had - my nuclear family - my parents - were very stable people interested in what was bets for me - I get the feeling Brittney’s mother (and Ms. Lohan’s mother) used her as a cash machine.

(and I have the upmost sympathy for Brittney’s kids. They didn’t do anything to deserve this.)

That’s why I have sympathy for her. She was controlled her entire life and didn’t get the chance to make mistakes that most of us do in our teenage years. She gets married (twice!) in 2004 in an attempt to establish independence and she has kids right away in what seems like a desperate bid for affection. She’s having an adolesence in the media spotlight with no rules, unlimited money, and access to a variety illicit substances. She’s never struck me as particularly smart and she wasn’t raised to know how to navigate this world. The person I blame is her mother, not her.

I’m wondering if this latest Brincident is related to a mother’s strong ties to her children? That doesn’t account for her other Brincidents really, but she did scale the crazy ladder to new heights after she had her younguns.

I’m not defending Mama Spears, as we all know what a bang-up job she did on her two daughters, but at what point do we stop blaming our parents and start taking responsibility for our own lives?

There are other former child stars who had weirdo parents and no adolesence…Drew Barrymore, Brooke Shields for example. No one’s saying it’s easy, but it IS possible to move past those issues and have a semi-normal life, if you have the desire.

I think Federline comes across as a very good father and an all-around decent guy. He got lucky and was the “kept man” of a very rich woman for a while (a lot of guys’ ultimate fantasy) - that’s all. From what I’ve read, he’s doing everything he can to be a great father to his kids.

Also, according to Wikipedia,

This would also indicate to me that he’s not ashamed to poke fun at himself, which is another trait that I find admirable.

Well it probably won’t be a problem. Odds are I"ll get kicked out of here before my free month is up anyway.
