Britney Spears allegedly shaves own head; gets tattooed

This was on youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LB84A3zcmVo
And the interview was the gum-smacking Matt Lauer intereview.

Is Paris Hilton’s the taco that’s missing?

I don’t know if O’Connor knew this when she went in, but she was and still is ideally suited to baldness. Good bone structure, delicate features, a nicely shaped head, and most importantly, ears that are close to her skull. So her baldness was neither freakish nor unattractive.

Britney, OTOH, is not a classic beauty. She’s cute and all, but a great deal of that has had to do with stylists*, and it’s possible that when she’s 40, she won’t look especially pretty at all. And now that the hair’s gone, her not-cute ears are on full display, and we can see that her features don’t stand well on their own. Persis Khambatta (from ST: TMP) was a model before she was an actress, so her face was not dependent on hair to frame it. As far as Spears, though, I think she just barely could have pulled it off if she’d left that tail at the back, as seen in one of the “during” photos that have been posted on line. Right now, though, the back of her skull is doing her no favors.

And now I’m having the heebie-jeebies. I’ve spent years growing and maintaining my waist-length hair, and this morning when I was brushing it, I kept picturing it on the floor instead of on my head. I know I could never pull off a skin head. Brrr…

*That said, I agree with those who say that Spears’ hair has been ravaged by years of coloring, styling, extensions and so forth, and that a clean break and starting over might, in the long run, be a good idea.

when i first heard the story, i thought she had shaved her hair to get the tat.s on her head.

that would have been a more interesting story.

Sure he did, just your phone was swallowed

I had a work friend in college who had a great tattoo on her head; quite a large one all over the back of the skull. When she clipped her hair short, it was visible, but if she let it grow out a bit, it disappeared. It was really cool, though now I wonder how she’ll feel about it at 75 with thinning, wispy hair and a giant visible tattoo on the back of her head!

In all seriousness, I feel sorry for her. It’s got to be incredibly tough to be yesterday’s “it” girl. I think, with the exception of perhaps her mother, we all knew from Day One that her career was going to be limited because she simply didn’t have the voice or writing talent to sustain a music career. She’s on track to die young if she continues along this self-destructive path. I’d bet money that Jive is planning to drop her as I type and that’ll be just one more nail in her coffin.

Giving an adult all that money and attention is asking for trouble. Giving it to a kid is a money back guarantee.

I hope she gets help she needs and has the grace to ride off into the sunset before her kids lose their mother.

Its not just America. The same mindless obsession with trivial celebrity is found here in Australia, and in the UK.

HIJACK!

The untattooed need to realize the bulk of people with tattoos don’t sit around and regret getting them.

20+ years later and I’m still pleased with my first one. When I’m 75 I’ll feel the same way.

On Topic… I think Britney looks better with a shaved head. Sadly, she’s dumb as a brick with or without hair.

This was my thought precisely. How dare you express it before I did! Now I’m going to go shave my head…

I actually agree with you somewhat on this. However I think being a celebrity makes this a reciprocal problem. In other words, Once you’re the nice trustworthy person that the celeb needs, you’ll get used up and tossed aside. I think a lot of times a defining characteristic of a celeb is that they’re ego maniacs who are successful because they’re selfish and self centered.

That still doesn’t explain why Ashley Simpson is a name that anyone besides her family would know. I’m shocked that she’s being 'manufactured" into a celebrity. Ugh.

…yeah which make the stories about her and KFed ‘playing chess in their free time’ all the more hilarious. (I don’t think that’s where that chess piece goes, Brit, I don’t care what it’s shaped like.)

I think everyone knew from day one that it couldn’t last, but in Britney’s case, SHE is the one who ended it prematurely. If she had never gotten pregnant or been associated with Seed Spiller Federline she could have easily been on top for a few more years. She was young, attractive, appeared to be a ‘nice’ girl. Hell that’s half the battle right there.

Speaking of Ryan Gosling – our radio show prep today said Gosling is taking credit/blame for making Britney and Christina Aguilera the over-sexed little ho’s they apparently are. Claims he gave them “sex tips” backstage during their Mouseketeer days together. Man, I *knew * those TV pretty boys were gettin’ all the nookie!

I’d still do her.

Seriously, though, if the tattoo parlor were certain something was up, that she was acting weird and “on the verge of a breakdown”, why the hell would they agree to tattoo anyone in that condition? Some places have rules against tattooing a person drunk or on drugs, but not “on the verge of a breakdown”?

Sinead O’Connor, Natalie Portman, Ellen Ripley: Yes.

Britney Spears: No.

That is all.

HIJACK again.

I know a number of people now in their 40s who do regret their tats. Particularly the ones that are noticable in public.

A friend of mine has three, two on her ankles, one on the back of her neck. She seems to have regretted the one on the back of her neck from the moment she got it.

I almost shaved what’s left of my thinning hair Friday night.

I am glad I did not, as I would have to explain I was not a copycat of Britney.

And I refuse the shave my junk.

So Dannilynn is the next generation?
