A few weeks ago I purchased a ticket to see Curtians (the Broadway musical starring David Hyde Pierce) this coming Friday night. Now there has been a stagehand strike that has stopped shows from playing for the last 3 days or so and I have heard nothing about the stagehands going back to work anytime soon. So when this Friday night rolls around and I get to the theater if I am told that the show isn’t going on because of the strike what are my options?
Are they required to refund my money or will they allow me to transfer my ticket to a future performance? Do I contact Ticketmaster to get a refund? If a refund or exchange is refused will Visa stop the charge from going through or do they consider that my loss?
Plus there are eight shows still on. They’ve got separate union contracts.
You can still see “Cymbeline,” “Mary Poppins,” “Mauritius,” “Pygmalion,” “The Ritz,” “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee,” “Xanadu” and “Young Frankenstein.” I recommend both “The Ritz” and “Mauritius” as I saw them earlier this month. Both stellar!
