broken heater - fixable?

Over the years we have had about 4 Holmes bathroom heaters. The first one broke, we threw it out and bought a new one. Then that one broke. We replaced it too. I finally got around to looking into the warranty and got both of them replaced. Now, one of those it about to break. I can tell this because the coils are glowing orange, which they did no do before, and because it smells like smoke.

I have looked at the broken ones in the past, but not being very knowledgable about such things, I have no idea what do do with it. One of the last two we had replaced looked like the coils just broke apart where it connects to the - power source? Ground? Something. I am assuming that since the wires are now glowing orange there is more resistance or a poor connection somewhere. But I don’t know how to fix it or if it would be safe to do so. What do I do to determine what the problem is? How do I fix it? Should I fix it?

As I noted, these are called “bathroom heaters”, it’s written on the front. But this model is no longer sold anywhere as far as I can see and is not listed on the maker’s website. Most other heaters I’ve looked at say not for use in bathrooms. Perhaps because they break due to moisture? Any suggestions on what to do to provide supplemental in the bathroom? (that don’t require remodelling  )

DaddyTimesTwo, Delonghi makes them as well - I did a google search on bathroom heaters and got a bunch of them to come up.
