Don’t we humans have two brains? Not left and right, but those two halves (brain #1) plus the other stuff underneath (brain #2)? The primitive parts?
Have I seen too many horror movies?

Humans have many distinct structures inside our skulls, but I wouldn’t say that they’re different brains, so much as different parts of the same brain. The primitive inner/lower portion is sometimes referred to as the “lizard brain”, since that’s all that lizards have, but I don’t think that any neurologists actually consider it to be separate.
And Dex, I hate to be the one to tell you you’re wrong, but his first name was most definately either “Horace” or “Frank”. Or maybe “Laurie”.
