The spouse has been feeling a bit poorly of late, and he’s had this lump on one side since taking a fall in the living room. His primary doc has been following up, and recently sent him for a CT scan of the sore lump which doesn’t seem to be going away but that came back with no sign of anything amiss.
Well, yesterday there was a fever topping 102 F, dry heaves, actual abdominal pain rather than soreness, the lump got bigger, and at one point he passed out in the hallway, racking up another fall.
He is now in the hospital, which is where he belongs with such alarming symptoms. The ER gave him another CT scan, which also showed nothing amiss, nevermind that fever, the pain, the swelling… The docs are puzzled but they gave him something for the nausea and about 10 hours after the medical circus began a little morphine for the pain.
I’m trying to fret, but of course am not being entirely successful on that point.
