Dude got to be too much even for G. Gordon Liddy.
(Don’t tell him the Arabs discovered algebra and the Chinese invented paper.)

That can’t possibly be a real quote, can it?
The Daily Currant is a satire site, so I’m guessing it isn’t real…
It’s the Daily Currant. A produce-based satire site.
However, I think Poe’s Law applies.
My first instinct is that it’s a fake. The site says this supposedly happened four days ago. But a Google search show no other news sources reporting this.
Yeah, only in satire would Gordo be appalled by such a speech.
Wouldn’t it be Cole’s Law, instead? :dubious:
That would be Cabbage.com.
The Daily Currant is like The Onion except for no funny parts.
Indeed.
Right. People keep missing the point: For satire to work, it has to be something that’s a little bit beyond what the target would actually say or do.
Those remarks in the OP don’t qualify.
(This also requires audience familiarity with the target. When Ebert attempted sarcasm, which is similar to satire, he failed because he came off like he was just another dumb old person mouthing off about gays. Not enough people knew his real position on the issue.)
Yeah; my first thought wasn’t “that can’t be true”; it was “Buchanan? That explains it.”
He’s said things exactly like that before. Here’s Rachel Maddow taking him to task for the wacky shit he was spewing on her show (Gets specific at 2:30). Here’s the full context.
Even if Buchanan didn’t say it publicly, it’s very likely what he’s thinking. The Currant must be channeling him.
Didn’t follow links, but Maddow refuses to have him as a guest.
Maybe NOW she does, but he guested on her show quite a bit when it was new.
jayjay-He probably said stuff that built over time, and finally pissed her off, banning him.
And one of the first two people climbing Everest wasn’t white. Dead giveaway there, since climbing Everest could only have been picked for its supposed satiric value.
IIRC, he actually had his own special segment on her show originally.
ETA: MSNBC finally fired him early this year.
Yeah, satire just can’t keep up with these people. Buchanan’s latest book, “Suicide of a Superpower” actually has a chapter titled “The End of White America”.
