Budweiser is the most popular beer...

among injured ER patients

Story

Hm, I assumed that by “Budweiser” they included “Bud Light”, but it’s counted separated (though still one of the most popular).

That’s kind of odd. I know or have known very few people who drink regular Budweiser.

I would have maybe expected Natural Light or Milwaukee’s Best to be up at the top.

I thought this was going to be about hospitals prescribing beer. My father was prescribed beer while in recovery after his knee replacement. As a matter of fact, it was Budweiser.

Bud has always been my favorite. It actually had taste unlike the Coors and Miller my friends drank.

I’ve started drinking Sam Adams occasionally. But Bud is what I still enjoy the most. Especially on a hot day after mowing the yard. Crack one open and rest for a bit.

Funny family story: My Father-In-Law was sitting at the bar one night. (My wife was the bartender at the time) He grabs his chest and winces in pain.

“Ohh, ohh! I think I’m havin’ a heart-attack! I better have a little Budweiser!”

Oft quoted around here.

I did the same thing…I said, “they have to be counting Bud Light” but then saw it listed separately. Very odd, as Bud Light sells way more than Budweiser see below, from here), and it seems to be that it sells well among college students and young people who seem prone to doing dangerous things while drinking.

Very odd. Steel Reserve is listed in the story as a beer that accounts for way more ER visits than you would expect given the sales volume, and people drink Steel Reserve to get DRUNK. Nobody is drinking that stuff at a neighborhood barbecue. So maybe Budweiser does really well amongst hardcore alcoholics drinking to get plastered.

I don’t drink much, but Budweiser is my cheap domestic beer of choice. I can’t stand most light beers, Bud Light in particular – I’d rather just not drink than drink a Bud Light, it’s far too watery to be enjoyable.

I just read this part of the article…the fact that the sample size was small, it was done in one hospital in a mostly black area of one city, means that the data is pretty useless when it comes to the country as a whole.

I missed a connection the 1st time around…all of these are also popular in large volume containers; large cans or “40’s”.

You might not think of Budweiser like that, but take a look at the fo’ties rack next time. It’s right there.

Maybe it’s what fo’ties drinkers look for when they want to fancy it up a little bit.

ETA: Typed this while SpeedwayRyan was posting. Bingo. The study is CRAP!
