Well for what it’s worth, the movements, gait, etc, were true of me, and still are, at least since I first knew that I didn’t want to grow up to be a man. (Knowledge which I ignored at the time, thinking the feeling would pass :smack: ) And it just so happens that I was about 11 or 12 at the time.
But this was after years of people teasing me for looking like a girl, and once putting nail polish on my pinky just to taunt me about it, so probably for that reason there never was any exploration.
Lamia, when I read Arwin’s first post, I immidiately assumed being “pathologically Dutch” implied behavior, and that Arwinwas talking about behavior. You separate the two; having a certain nationality and behaving a certain way. That’s more accurate, but it’s just in the way one reads it, or one’s own associations, I guess.
For instance, when I read that Arwin said that anyone might be “pathologically Dutch” the first image that came to my mind was:

[li]I might wear clogs and traditional clothing even though the clogs would make my feet hurt and I would look totally ridiculous at work in the office, so that people would think I had gone insane and fire me; [/li][li]I’d start hating and vilifying (and alienating) Germans I work with because Germany occupied Holladn fifty years ago, or do the same to friends from France because France oocupied Holland two hundred years ago; [/li][li]I’d bring up smoking hashish ad nauseam in non-hashish related conversations. [/li][/ul]
