Bumping a thread more than once

I posted these questions (about cold viruses) in GQ two weeks ago. It got zero relevant replies. One reply was a bump from another interested person (Thanks, Apollon!), one was a bump from me, and a final reply was wildly off-topic.

I’m still very interested in the questions in my OP. The forum guidelines say not to bump it again. I’d like to bump it again and maybe add a “reduced” version of the OP, in case it was too much of a wall of text. Advice on how to proceed? I suppose I can just let the thread die, but… come on, those are good questions, no?

I better bump this thread before it sinks to the bottom.

Those are interesting questions, but there’s probably a small set of posters who could answer them. Maybe send PMs to the usual suspects to see if they can contribute?

Don’t look a gift horse in the mouth. A wildly off-topic reply could be all it takes to get someone marginally familiar with the topic to go do a bunch of research to find an actual answer to your question, just to refute something shockingly off-base.

On-topic-but-wrong could incite such action. Fully off topic, not so much. In any case, yes, I was happy for that bump when it happened, but now I can only characterize it as what it is.

A good suggestion.

Your questions look like a good example of the situation where it is better to find a relevant specialized forum and ask your questions there.
