Hi all!
Wordy welcome back; we always miss you. Best of luck w the layoff genie. Remembering that sometimes being a layoff survivor is a fate worse than being a layoff victim. Been there, done both, have both T-shirts to prove it. And the teeth marks in my ass; one set on the left, and the other set on the right.
In either case it’s gonna suck, so time to be looking for your personal best plan B.
FCM it’s been just under 50 miles one way to/from irk for me for a decade now. The upside in my case is making about 1 to 1-1/2 round trips per week, not 5 round trips per week. So not too stupid an annual total; just mildly stupid.
I can only say that however highly capable I was in my prime, I was her when I was her age. It’s so damned hard to deal with unpleasant adulting tasks when you’re age 15 to about 28.
Now I’m back to sucking at the mildly unpleasant or annoying or off-putting. “I shouldn’t have to” is kinda the Prime Directive.
Yaay! Best news all day.
I’m in that ballpark too. I’ve persuaded myself that’s a darn good number with little or no long-tern health risks. Just gotta keep it up for the long haul.
Yaay you!!!111!!
'Tis a tough row to hoe, but if anyone can hack it, I know it’s you. Soldier on, soldier!
Yaay Sari overall, net of some major BOOO!!!s for the doc’s shitty checkout staff.
Flyboy: that sounds like quite the date night. Well done. Woman-unit sabotaging your potatoes is mean. Probably for the best overall, but still mean.
As to me:
Here a bit pre-bed time I'm back home.
Dinner out was superb, as was the yakkage. Massed quantities of wonderful everything were snarfed, the help was great, and 3-1/2 hours after we started it was time to head home. I’ll be back.
All told we had caipirinhas and a bottle of fine older St. Émilion, salads, charcuterie, a bit of carbs, and lamb, chicken, pork sausage, and a couple pounds of various Latin preparations of beef. Each. Plus cheesecake and porto and coffee. Aaaahhh!
Rolled home and am letting it all settle before trundling off to bed here soon.
My TDAP vax earlier today hurt a bunch as injected; just as the doc had predicted this morning. Per the paperwork, it’s the same 0.5ml volume as all the other vaxes, but it felt like a big thick blob o’ goo going in. Much unlike all the others.
Now not quite 12h later I can feel where it was, but there’s no discomfort, no restricted range of motion, and no systemic symptoms. Yaay me! Done w vaxing for 12-ish months.
Nap time! We’ll yak manana on the weekend. Yayy!
Cheers all!
