{{{Taters & Polar}}}
Finished the fingerless mitts and I’ve made 2 “hats” for pumpkins and I just started a 3rd. Had to stop to make FCD a sammich - he’s not allowed to do much in the kitchen.
OK, Back to it.

I have had bacon and eggs. Spot has had zoomies. The laundry has been through the washer. Naptime.
{{{{Taters and Polar}}}} It’s the one part I hate about being a pet owner.
I’m sad to hear about Polar.
We had bacon and eggs. The eggs were from our office’s accountant, who has chickens. Strangely, he doesn’t care for eggs. The eggs are tiny. Mrs. L.A. had the two largest ones (maybe close to ‘medium eggs’), and I had four of the smallest (one being about an inch in diameter). The bacon was a little skinny, so I made six rashers instead of the usual four.
Probably bantam chickens. Basically, the “toy poodle” of chickens - miniature versions of any other chicken breeds. (Bantam Polish chickens are hilarious.)
Eggs are perfectly fine, although the size will screw with the precision needed for baking recipes.
For non-baking (such as bacon n eggs) you get to say things like “I’m off my diet today! I’m eating FOUR eggs for breakfast, and noone can stop me!” and your cardiologist will still be O.K.
No idea what kind of chickens they are; but Accountant says they’ve just started laying, and they’ll lay bigger eggs as they lay more of them.
The chicks are adorable!
Afternoon all. When soccer started at 8am it was 63F. When I made it back home at 12:45pm after refereeing two games and coaching the 7-year olds, it was 86F. I’m really beginning to hate Global Climate Change… May get rested up and make a border run in a little while to grab some lottery tickets for tonight’s $960M drawing, just so I can say I threw some of my money away too. Outside of that some well-earned sloth is in store.
{{{{Taters and Polar}}}}. It hurts so much to let them go, but I know you’ll do what’s best for him.
Happy knitting (and sammich-making) day, FCM. And that’s how much cruising has changed in the past 30 years; a ship with 1,400 passengers is ‘small’.
shoe, if that sleep schedule works for you, embrace it, IMHO.
Cookie, been in a couple of those shows, you can;t sleep for how bright it is all the time from the constant lightning.
Pilot, yeah, credit card security these days can be a pain, glad you got it worked out. And sounds like a great night out was had.
shady, you’re undoubtedly right, but I think there are about 4-5 cotton fields left in the whole county and I doubt many kids live there; but Tradition!!
JtC, rooting for that old hound dawg, for his owner maybe not so much.
Flyboy, read the ‘date night’ menu and you do know how to show a lady a good time, and she knows how to moderate your eating habits…sounds like a match made in heaven.
OK, need to put on some non-refereeing clothes and head off to Lottery Land (also known as Tennessee) for the Billion-Dollar forlorn hope sweepstakes. Take care all.
Porching for a bit. May need to relocate. A half dozen black walnuts just missed me by a few feet. One bounced into my foot.
Beautiful trees, love the wood, hate the nuts.
You know that’s the squirrels chuckin’ them directly at you, right?
We had to let our remaining kitty go last month. I still haven’t adjusted to leaving the door open when I step outside
I wouldn’t mind taller, but could do without greater circumference. I already have too much of that.
Good job! Who says job-related skills such as outside-the-box problem-solving don’t apply in the real world (and vice versa)?
Damn, the last walnut almost landed in my drink. Really, 2 inches.
Those kind squirrels, just trying to season your beverage with something they consider tasty. And you rejected their offer!
How rude.
Like this, but with squirrels:
I guess it’s better than my next door neighbor with his metal roof. Sounds like gunshots when a walnut hits it.
I dug up all of the molehills, and mowed the lawn as short as I could. I’m hoping I can figure out where the tunnels are/will be.
NM Photos didn’t load correctly.
Howdy Y’all! Chikin has been cooked, cooled, and shredded. Now it needs turnin’ into chikin sallit, which shall happen in a bit. Other than that, it’s been our usual wont of sloth and general overall uselessness. Tackleball is on teevee and right now I am not happy with my Dawgs. They need to crank up their game! Rah.
{{{Taters}}} it’s so hard when a fur baby is meeting his/her end. Polar has had a fantastic life, full of love thanks to you and Mr. Taters. Still I am so sorry for what you’re goin’ through right now.*
MOOOOOOM that was a tough conversation to have with daughter, but sounds like you were thorough with what to do just in case.
shoe you do a first and second sleep. It works for you. YAY!
Considering all the newest ones that hold more than 5000…
We haven’t talked to her yet. We just talked about talking to her. Gotta gather all the pertinent info and phone numbers first.
Ten little hats or crowns. Time to cut yarn hair. Yep, that exciting!
Excellent plan to plan ahead, but … MIL may well resolve that problem for you. You aren’t leaving for 22 months. At her age a lot can change in that time. Including her being raggedy enough as the cruise date approaches that you’re reluctant to just sail away while she’s apparently within a month or two of her end. Whether you solve that with trip cancellation insurance or a pact w FCD & daughter that you’re going anyway, the sooner you get your plans settled and start getting used to everything they imply, the better for all.
Good luck with all of that. I might enjoy signing up for that cruise too.
