Burnt orange: the "in" color for cars?

Sundance Gold, AKA Metalic Nuclear Amber is not like Competition Orange or Fusion Orange.

Here is a picture I found (not our car) that shows the color.

My husband actually got a really good deal on it, because that was the only color the dealer had left when he was shopping and he claimed that great domestic discord was going to result if he brought that hideous thing home. Actually, I couldn’t care less; he drives it, not me. And yes, he can’t hide. Although there is another one just like it somewhere not too far away. Our daughter called me one time to ask how dad got all the way to the mall before she did, but he (and his glowing car) were still here. He actually likes it.

Burnt orange was big back in the muscle car days. An example.

A 1970 Dodge Challenger

Found the same color on a '56 Chevy. I was really looking for a bronze-colored '56, didn’t find one but I found a '57 instead. Terrible picture though.

Now this is how to do copper on a car.

I know what color you are talking about and I love it. Yes I would buy a car that color. Call me weirdo I know.

Me too. As long as we mean metalic burnt orange/umber, not flat. Someone who works in the same building as I do has a jeep that color, and it is sharp. OTOH, I just like that color in general. That’s why I made a couch download that color for The Sims.

A neighbor has a Chevy Avalanche in Sunburst Orange II Metallic – Here’s a Colorado in that color

Yuk.
