Hey, do you have any idea just how intricate and vicious the politics of the horse show world can be? Bush probably figured if Brownie could manage the egos involved in that, a bunch of garden-variety politicians and bureaucrats would be a walk in the park.
He cocked up the US Arabian Horse Assoc real good. Maybe Shrub thought he could do better with humans?
What makes this ironic is that apparently Bush is more of a faux cowboy than I would have imagined, since he is scared of horses.
Yeah, I wouldn’t make too much hey of it (as it were), but I do find it amusing that Bush is uncomfortable around a horse. I mean, I’m uncomfortable around horses, but I don’t try to wrap myself in the mantle of the cowboy. I’m living in Texas currently, and these days a lot of Texans are eager to assure me that Bush is from Conneticut. That wasn’t the story I was hearing a few years ago. Harry Shearer on Real Time claimed that Bush bought his estate ranch just before running for governor, characterizing it as a ‘movie set.’ The funny never ends with this guy.

I’m a recovering Texan and I hate horses. They are large, smelly, and mean; if they don’t kill you, its only because they never had the chance. They will kick and bite and they will buck you off and trample you. They produce wildly excessive amounts of excrement that must be dealt with.
All horses should have a target painted on both sides and there should be open season and a bounty on them. They have no place in modern society.
