If you want to take out your anger on the reich wing coup, here’s your chance!
This site is just the thing!
(Hint: use mouse clicks to throw punches).
[punch!] That’s for giving us a tax cut!
[punch!] And that’s for having a standard of ethics for the White House!
[punch!] And that? Well that’s for not having an affair with your twenty-something intern!
[punch!] That? Well that’s just because I’m a jerk and like punching people one more time.
[punch!] See?
Jokes do not belong in the pit:)
Y’know, Bush talks about eliminating abortion, and lowering taxes, thats great and all but, lets face it, Texas isn’t really that great of a state.
Hehe…good one!
Aw, come on. As a nonpartisan, I’m firmly of the belief that no one who makes it to that level in politics is the most ethical person you’re likely to meet. Cliched, maybe, but more or less true.
Oh, and BTW: would his “standard of ethics” include handing out 22 of 27 ambassadorships to personal friends with no previous experience? Or does owning the Seattle Mariners somehow qualify one to represent our country in Portugal?
FTR, I’m not bitter about the election. Just thought I’d put a stop to the myth-making.

- Baseball players sometimes cheat by corking their bats.
- Portugal exports lots of cork.
I guess the “dumbass fratboy who’s just intelligent enough to know he’s not up to the rigors of a press conference” image is just a ruse.

Or maybe he’s just not his most comfortable standing at a podium addressing several dozen cameras…

That’s been standard procedure in Washington for at least 40 years.
That actually dates back to Andrew Johnson.

Right on. I live in Austin, which is about as close as you can come to not living in Texas while still living in Texas. Most of this state is kinda fun to visit, but would be hell to live in.
I know it’s not nice to stereotype, because I know a lot of Texans who are wonderful, cultured people, but holy shit we have a lot of asshole redneck bigots and/or “my-daddy’s-got-an-oil-field-and-a-jet-and-I-am-in-a-frat-house-and-i-drive-a-porsche” guys. Highland Park is about the worst place on the face of the planet. It’s like taking bigot redneck assholes and mixing them equally with the richest, snobbiest motherfuckers in the world. Fuck.
Actually, Bush has explicitly said that anti-abortion legislation is not going to happen, since it had no chance of passing.

Too bad that standard of ethics isn’t retroactive and doesn’t apply to his teenage daughters and their Secret Service escorts. In keeping with Daddy’s drunk-driving record and Daddy’s vice president’s even-worse drunk-driving record, First Daughters Jenna and Barbara are off to a great start!
Jenna, who’s 19, was cited in April for underage drinking at an obnoxious frat bar and just the other day sentenced to community service for it. She barely got out of court before she and Barbara got in trouble for allegedly trying to buy drinks in a (really, really bad) Mexican restaurant with someone else’s I.D. By now every bartender in Austin (especially the ones in frat hangouts) should have the Bush Twins’ faces memorized. Let’s see if that even stops her from trying yet again.
To be fair, even though Chelsea was never known to make her Secret Service agents pull rank to get her boyfriend out of jail (is that what Republicans consider ethics?), I don’t think the previous administration was any better. Clinton just had “problems” in other areas.
So fuckin’ what, I have a DUI myself. I also had a fake ID before I could buy beer legally. I even got caught by the cops and did community service for underage drinking. Am I now unethical? How so? Some of you guys are getting a bit sanctimonious in your search for Bush demons. Frankly, it’s beginning to look like a witch hunt, which I find quite disturbing. Fer fuck’s sake, we even have a GD topic on this. What that “debate” is supposed to be about, I’ve no fucking idea. Besides, isn’t witch hunting and persecution supposed to Republican turf?
Oh, THIS is what you were talking about in MPSIMS. Come on, this isn’t a Jenna thread, it’s a link to a dopey website.
I’m tellin’ ya, Unc, you should move to New York. You and I can go out and get loaded a couple times a week, then we just hop on the IRT to go home. No car, no DUI, capeesh?
…UnethicleBeer…no, don’t even say it…{snicker}…

excelllent point… (d &R)
You and I can go out and get loaded a couple times a week …
Shit. What the hell would I do the other five nights? Frankly though, my DUI was a tad over 20 years ago.
You were six? No wonder you got pulled over.
