First, “two senior administration officials” emphatically != “low level staffers.” As one of the links points out, the term “senior administration official” is reserved for those in the White House who are deputy level and above. If it had said “sources within the administration,” your point might be valid. As it is, it isn’t.
Second, unless Plame is, as minty points out, openly a CIA employee (something there’s been no evidence of), to a great extent it doesn’t matter if she’s actually employed by the CIA. It’s a phenomenally crappy thing to do regardless. You think any of her colleagues and work contacts overseas are going to trust her again after this, even if she swears she’s not a spook? Please.
And Airblairxxx: Yeah, I know Novak’s conservative. I can’t imagine someone not knowing that. I was speaking ironicamally. Thanks, though. 
If you can point to one time in the history of Novak’s career in which he passed up an opportunity to badmouth the Clinton administration, then maybe we can give this idea credit. If he feels fine spreading horseshit about people taking Ws off of WH keyboards with no problem, I think perhaps he would jump at the chance to show an actual crime being committed.
