Bush/Cheney countdown and celebration thread

365 Days

One year from today, George Bush and the president will leave office. Whoever is standing on the White House balcony early that afternoon watching the helicopter rising from the pad, please lift a middle finger on behalf of Americans everywhere.

Uh, remind me again when it gets a bit closer to time. I’m getting old, and tend to be a bit forgetful.

Aw, fuck it, I’ll just give’em the finger every day from now till then.

I’m looking forward to it, but I ain’t celebrating until those swine are out of office and cannot start another war. I honestly expect to wake up one morning between election day and inauguration day to find a Saturday Night Massacre type situation where the Secretary of Defense, all of the undersecretaries, and all of the Joint Chiefs of Staff have resigned or been fired, and that Cheney (and Dubya) have started their war on Iraq with a former Pentagon janitor as SecDef and a surfer dude still in boot camp as Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. It will make the rash of pardons on 19 January 2009 look minor, including Dubya’s pardon of himself and Cheney for anything done while in office. (There are not enough :smack: and  in the world!)

I’m afraid those bozos going to make all of us in the U.S. - on all parts of the political spectrum - regret re-electing them in 2004, and not impeaching them both in 2005.

On preview: Wow - I did not mean to piss on your parade like that. Sorry! I’ll give Bush and Cheney and extra finger today. There - I feel better now!

Sorry, I’m looking at ‘they still have 365 days to fuck us up even more’.

It’s 366, actually.

Leap year, and all.

  1. Leap year.

I wonder how he is going to word the blanket pardon?

fuck.

Killjoy was here.

Election years, (old-style) Olympic years… always leap years. Easy to remember that way.

I know I’m in the demographic that Merkwurdigliebe feels should be disenfranchised (if not shot on sight) due to intellectual degeneracy, but I seem to recall that we’ve already been there for a spell. Or are they going to keep doing it till they get it right?

As for giving them the finger of scorn, I’ve been doing that since 2001.

I’m looking forward to Airman Doors’s post at that time.

Ah, Jesus! You mean we have to put up with these idiots for another year?!

Where’s Kenneth Starr when you need him.

(Typo Knig is just trying to live up to his name. Besides, they’ll probably invade and conquer Tahiti so they have some place to retire to.)

To the President on January 20, 2009: if you can’t bring yourself to display a middle finger, please at least point the pilot in the direction of the Hague.

Yeah. That’s just what they want us to think.

Thanks, BJMoose, but it seems I can live up to my DoperName without even trying.
:smack:

I’ve had a button for over 2 years that says…

          1-09-2009

Our National Nightmare Ends
Rejoice!

<conspiracy theory>It won’t happen, there will be a terrorist attack of some sort that will require GWB to impose Martial Law and delay the elections and/or handing over of the presidency. </conspiracy theory>

Just what we need - another incompetant Republican with a penchant to waste everybody’s time and taxpayer dollars on wild goose chases.

Personally, I’d like to get one of those fired prosecutors to be a special investigator. Now THAT would be fun.

Well, I was going for the general idea of a special prosecutor building a case for impeachment, not that specific reality. I gotta say your suggestion really hits the mark. Here’s an idea: since the Supremes a decade back left the president wide open to civil lawsuits, how about all the fired prosecutors each bring an unlawful-termination lawsuit against Bush and keep him so tied up that he hasn’t time to fart, much less invade whatever?
