Bush, Gore, Nader, Buchannan, someone else, or nobody or undecided.

Sure he’s a moron but he is better than Gore. Democrats tend to piss me off, especially Gore.

Harry Browne. Haven’t ever voted for a democan or a republicrat, and I’m not gonna start now. I refuse to throw my vote away for Gore or Bush when I can make it count and vote for Harry Browne.

I was going to write-in Dave Barry, but after reading this, I changed my mind.

Finally, a reason to vote for Bush!!!

Come on folks, jump start my stand-up career!
Vote Bush 2000!!!

Gore. Mainly because the next President could be making a slew of Supreme Court appointments, and the Court is already too conservative as it is. Those of you voting for Nader may be handing the election to Bush. Bush’s Supreme Court appointments, as well as his appointments in the Department of the Interior, could make environmentalists regret that Green Party vote for decades to come.

Bush

(But y’all knew that already, I’m sure)

Ralphie boy. I figure that as many people will be putting in conscience-votes for Buchanan as for Nader, so I figure that we freaks on either side will even out and the curve will lens out on the sides (I figure that each of those parties getting 5% and future funding/ incorporated into the discourse of devates is more important than whichever of the republicrat moderates win this year).

Gore. Because I can accept inaccessability, stiffness, corruption and elitism, but I draw the line at stupidity. I’d rather elect a competent bastard than a well-meaning idiot.

Whoever said that George Dubya Bush is well-meaning? An idiot, yes, I completely agree. But well-meaning? I suppose he means well towards the people and organizations funding him and stroking his ego but towards the rest of us? I think he regards us as enemies.

Precisely.

Nader

I’m torn between Gore and Nader. On the one hand, I agree with Spoke that voting for Nader could be like voting for Bush. On the other hand, I think that is a dangerous attitude that will have us voting for the lesser evil in perpetuity.

Then again, we’re not having much luck getting Nader on the ballot here in KY. We’re just not a progressive state.

Dr. J

I’m writing in Hillary Clinton.

I wouldn’t vote for Bush if you put a gun to my
head.

Nader.

I too wouldn’t vote for Bush if you held a gun to my head.

Bush has the competence and experience that Jimmy Carter had in '76, but without the moral dimension. 'Nuff said.

I was going to vote for Kodos, but now I think I’ll vote for Kang.

Nader…Without hesitation.

Thank you. That is exactly right. People who don’t vote for the best candidate only because they fear others won’t vote for that candidate thus “wasting” their votes, don’t realize how an election is supposed to work. You vote for the best person for the job. PERIOD. You DO NOT vote for who you think is going to win.

The “horse-race” mentality is what’s gotten us into the mess that is our entire political system. The best rule-of-thumb is that you should vote your conscience and not take into consideration who you think other people are voting for. THAT is the only way an election can result in the selection of the best candidate.

And if you for some reason don’t think that any of the candidates are fit to serve, by all means write-in “Mickey Mouse” and send the message that a fictional mouse is a better choice than any of those clowns. That would be preferable to voting for who you think is going to win whether or not they deserve your vote. I can’t wait for the day that Mickey Mouse gets more votes than either of the candidates from the two major parties.

All that being said, I am voting for Nader knowing that his chances aren’t all that great. But the way I see it, the more votes he gets this election, the more serious consideration people will give him and other independant candidates in the future. That, and the fact that he is by far the best man for the job in my opinion.

I agree with voltaire.

My ticket: Green Party candidates Ralph Nader/Winona LaDuke.

Gore, I guess, but I’m half tempted to write in Bill Bradley. Once upon a time, when he was still in the running, the Presidential Selector said he was the best match for me.

Current Presidential Selector results:
Score Candidate
82 Albert Gore Jr.

74 David McReynolds

64 Ralph Nader

37 John Hagelin

23 George W. Bush

20 Harry Browne

9 Howard Phillips

8 Alan Keyes

4 Patrick J. (Pat) Buchanan

I’m so happy Buchanan is at the bottom of the list.

Score Candidates
74 Harry Browne
61 John Hagelin
60 George W. Bush
53 Alan Keyes
41 Albert Gore Jr.
38 Howard Phillips
36 Ralph Nader
35 David McReynolds
32 Patrick J. (Pat) Buchanan

Gr8Kat, I think it’s funny that Buchanan is at the bottom of the lists of people with such different political leanings.

Nader. Definitely Nader.

And for the cynics that think they will be “throwing their votes away,” you should also consider the other bit of cynicism that “your one vote won’t change the outcome of the election anyway.” With that in mind, voting for one of the major parties is how you will be throwing your vote away, unless you sincerely believe in them. Your vote will be hidden among millions of others. At least if you vote your conscience you can send a message.
