These guys are not stupid. Bush is not stupid just because he mispronounces a few words here and there. He is a vicious, calculating man who doesn’t give a damn if you live or die, but he is NOT stupid. And the guys behind him are definitely NOT stupid. They are brilliant for what they have done. The Bush machine is the most brilliant political machine I have ever seen.
The absolutely WORST thing to do when engaged in battle is to underestimate your enemies. Bush stupid? The most powerful man on Earth stupid? If you think that, you are an idiot. You are an idiot if you think his bellicosity and apparent inconsistencies are idiotic. It is your own stupidity that does not see the perfectly consistent pattern that lies behind the lies.
Is Bush an idiot? I dunno… never met him. He certainly comes off as one frequently, but then so do I! He does seem to have a good team around him, and that makes me happy.
I, for one, wish that conservatives and liberals in the US could get beyond party politics, and actually get on with business. There are some changes that NEED to be made.

I have no idea if he was liberal or not, but I know that liberals love him. The point is that if liberals really believed that (relatively) poor intelligence was such a bad quality in a president, they should have been bashing JFK. (Maybe they did in the past? I have no idea.)
The reality is that liberals don’t really care whether Bush is an idiot. What they don’t like is that he’s a Republican. They’re just looking for a way to bash him that sounds non-political.
The thing that I’ve noticed is, it’s not just super-left liberals that think Bush is an idiot…it’s pretty much everyone. Of course, I do live in a fairly liberal area full of college students, but I have some rather conservative friends who still agree that Bush is dumber than a sack full of hammers.
I will grant you that the people behind him are smart. This is where a lot of people get their opinions of how stupid Bush really is. If you listen to speaches written for him by his people, he sounds intelligent and smart and like someone who knows what they hell he’s talking about, and that’s great. But the second he starts speaking on his own…Jesus Fucking CHRIST!!! It’s not that he simply mispronounces a few words here and there, it’s just that every time he opens his mouth and speaks his own mind, he proves that there’s nothing in it. He doesn’t come off as a very free thinker, which makes me glad he’s got a lot of intelligent people behind him…but that also frightens me a lot as well.
Bush is supremely unintelligent, unlearned, uncurious, and unverbose. To most of us, this means stone cold idiot. But you know what? He has an emotional intelligence that his father could only have hoped for. That charm, plus his charmed life as Bush, Jr. turns out to be all you need to sell your way to the White House. Don’t worry about Bush’s policies, worry about Rove and the rest of the “Mayberry Machiavellis.”
Thank god for Canada and the official declarations of non-moronicism. Don’t we have an official government document from Germany stating that Bush is not Hitler, and from Italy stating he is not a facist?
