Bush on the Rebound

We are deeply involved in congressional hearings over the deregulation and the Libertarian attitute Bush had over the economy. We are still in 2 wars . We have a horrible deficit that he left us with. If we get through these dangerous times, then his blemishes can fade. that will take 50 years.

Of course Bush’s reputation is going to go up. It has no place to go but up.

Oh boy, yeah. Clinton would be better remembered had he whipped it out to piss on Nixon’s grave instead of for Lewinsky.

Completely regardless of whether the invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq were appropriate (and I supported one of the two), I mean - completely aside from that - I’ll be amazed if there is anyone on this board who can argue that either of those invasions were competently administered.

Yes, if fading into historical obscurity qualifies as a rebound in reputation - and with a reputation and record as bad as Bush you can argue that it is - then eventually his reputation will “rebound”.

It was a billboard.

Depends upon how Obama fares…if we have 30% inflation and 20% unemployement, then Bush will look good.
If Obama ends his term with 5-6% unemployment, and moderate inflation, Bush won’t look so good.

It wouldn’t surprise me if Bush’s approval ratings have gone up in the last year. I, for one, think his not being President is the best thing he’s ever done.

Oh, c’mon. Last year he didn’t he didn’t start any wars either. I give him more credit for that.

Well, if you are giving him credit for all the years he hasn’t started any wars then you’d have to give him credit back to 2003. :stuck_out_tongue:

Personally, I give him credit for not being president anymore. But that’s about as far as I’d be willing to go, credit wise. He used up what limited credit he had with me in 2002…

Yeah, but I think he wanted to start some other wars, right after the Iraq invasion. And he would have, except the two wars he DID start went so badly.

But for the last couple of years he didn’t even TRY to start any. So… kudos and bonus points for that.
