Bush speaking live: Moron TV

[QUOTE=John Mace]
No. It’s what was widely reported during that election.

You believe everything you read?

[QUOTE=Baldwin]
I think you’re right. Back in 1992, when he was running for Governor of Texas, he used more complex sentences and seemed to have no trouble handing fairly sophisticated arguments. Then he became more “folksy” to run for President, and started relying on simple, black-and-white talking points that he repeated over and over. It worked, and now the leader of the free world talks to us like we’re slow-witted children.

Any chance there’s a Youtube or other link? I think this would be fascinating. I actually fell for his good 'ol boy demeanor, and never though of it as an act. But then again… his upbringing–especially given the demeanor of his parents–certainly belies that notion.

With all due respect, Squink, I believe the news more than some anonymous poster on a MB. But if you can back up your claim with evidence, let’s see it. What info do you have that “The last elections in Iran demonstrated pretty conclusively that having other nations hate you is good for the local conservative party.” I’m especially interested in the “pretty conclusively” part. Everything isn’t automatically about the US.

Nah, if you choose to believe that having the ‘great satan’ invade the country next door to you, and spout bellicose rhetoric in your general direction has no effect on elections, you’re welcome to remain a believer.

I didn’t say “no effect”. I said the election was “more about…”. It really is often about the economy. You’re the one talking about conclusive proof. It’s nothing of the kind.
