Businesses cutting out Facebook ads

I agree with this, facebook is like a giant virus that needs a vaccine.

One example here:

Skimming down that Twitter thread, it appears that at least a dozen advertisers, including Ben & Jerry’s are boycotting Facebook and Instagram for the month of July and maybe more.

good maybe they’ll clean up the stinking catbox that facebook’s become due to them not cutting the political crap off years ago …

Ahhh, how cute. They can get a pat on the head for joining the cool kids by not being on Facebook.

Whatever, it wouldn’t influence me to support them.

Unilever cutting ads they own a lot of products

Good. Maybe if FB starts seeing a few less Benjamins in their pocket they’ll start growing a spine. I won’t hold my breath though.

Now Coca Cola too.

This is excellent - it’s almost starting to feel like the ethical side of big businesses. How very surprising and pleasing. I don’t know what their precise motives are, of course, but in practice surely it has to be a step in the right direction?

Now it’s Starbucks, Coke and Pepsi withdrawing all their advertising from all social media, including of course Facebook and IG.

Facebook’s stock has lost about $60 Billion (with a B) over the last two business days, but at least one analyst says it won’t hurt them very much.

Youtube seems to have been stirred into action as well.

Disney, McDonald’s, Walmart, GEICO, etc.

How long until the only ads on Facebook are fake? Does Zuckerberg even care?
