Butt-Hurt Trump Takes to Twitter Again (Part 1)

Honestly, this tweet is the first piece of data that makes me wonder if maybe Mueller will come up empty. I mean, you would have to be an absolute imbecile to pick a fight with the people who hold your fate, and the fate of your family, in his hand if you knew that Mueller was going to dig up damning information.

He’s waiting for Obama to further reduce ISIS occupied territory so he can take credit.

Remember that he cast what he thought was an aspersion on the judge in the Trump University case, has denigrated the security agencies who probably have recordings of everything he has said on a telephone to any foreign national, has shown public disrespect for the FBI which is still involved in investigating him. He seems incapable of allowing rational thought to regulate his impulses.

I didn’t take the “absolute imbecile” option off the table, and Occam’s razor certainly still points toward corrupt idiot.

I’m not saying McConnell isn’t important, but he’s not the most important. Paul Ryan is the most important. Impeachment starts solely in the House. And lately, Ryan’s been picking at McConnell for the same reason as Trump (failure to pass anything on health care). However, Ryan is only going to be able to act as a firewall until he sees that it might cost him his position as Speaker/Senator from Wisconsin in the mid-terms. Not an unreasonable expectation, given the surprising popularity of one of his Democratic opponents, Randy Bryce:

Mueller isn’t going to come up empty. Just what is already known in the public domain constitutes obstruction of justice charges, without breaking a sweat. I have zero hesitation in making the prediction that when the total extent of Mueller’s investigation is revealed, any sane American’s jaw will be on the floor. At a minimum, I predict unassailable evidence for federal charges of:

Racketeering;
Money laundering;
Conspiracy with a foreign government to defraud the American people;
Tax fraud;
Perjury;
Witness intimidation;
Obstruction of justice.

And that’s just for Trump. For his impeachment, abuse of power is the easiest allegation to prove. Many, many instances of this have occurred.

Significant people who will be scooped up one way or another: Sessions, Pence, Manafort, Flynn, Jared, Ivanka, Don Jr., Bannon, Miller, Spicer, Gorka, Conway, Kasowitz. Every one of these people have publicly lied on the record in their efforts to protect Trump. Some have already lied under oath. Some have lied to obtain security clearances. Others have obstructed justice. Let’s also throw in Devon Nunes. His little diversionary stunt is going to cost him, too.

There will be lots more unknown aides and helpers.

You don’t hire 16 high-powered lawyers, most of whom left prestigious positions to participate and are known to be the very best in their fields, if you think you’re going to “come up empty.”

If I was Trump, I might try to start a war or something.

I’m just curious. How many high-powered attorneys has Trump retained?

Mueller’s team is as you stated looking into many people. I suspect if we added up all the lawyers retained by that group of people, the total would exceed 16.

How many lawyers do you retain if you think the investigation will “come up empty”?

It’s looking pretty bad when people, in the interest of peace and stability, halfway hope for a military coup d’état.

Riding Mitch’s ass again today:

I’ll just sit on my ass on my golf course and you guys just do what I said. Said no successful president ever.

Exactly. :wink:

Quite a rogues gallery!

I’m gonna stop you right there. :wink:

How many competent lawyers has Trump retained? It seems like, except for Ty Cobb, his lawyers don’t have much experience in DC and they’re going up against veteran DOJ prosecutors.

He’s got the best lawyers [del]money can buy[/del] unwittingly working pro bono.

Cleverly said.

My understanding is that Trump had a hard time retaining counsel because of his reputation for not listening to their advice and not paying them. He’s got Kasowitz and Sekulow, and he recently retained Ty Cobb. A few others, but no major players. Of those 3, only Cobb has enough sense to keep his mouth shut and work cooperatively with Mueller’s investigation.

We can add Sekulow to the Rogues’ Gallery. Another who lied publicly to protect Trump but didn’t say it in a way that protected himself from charges.

As dasmoocher points out, Trump hired expensive lawyers, but not lawyers experienced in the sort of law against which Trump will likely need to defend.

Trump just keeps going back to his tired old playbook: Attack, obfuscate, delay and distract. He doesn’t seem to understand that those tactics just add another obstruction charge to his ever-growing list and are not ultimately going to prevail in this caper.

Done hijacking this thread. :slight_smile:

I’m so happy about this breaking news:

CNN fires Jeffrey Lord over ‘Sieg Heil’ Tweet

Jeffrey Lord has been ruining my Anderson 360 experience for the past six months. I hope CNN can find a more intelligent conservative talking head.

Bill O’Reilly? :eek:

And why, speaking of Billo the Clown, would anybody buy history books by this guy. He can’t even get the present right and he’s living in it.

That depends on the version of reality the potential purchaser is living in.

I’m more surprised he has watchers who are inclined to read. Or can.

It’s about time. Not only does he go further in twisting reality to excuse everything the Howling Yam says or does, he actually laughs at the other commentators.

Just like Doorhinge only far smarter.

That’s an awfully low bar to clear. Being able to spell out the generic names of both a feline that goes “meow” and a canine that goes “woof” qualifies.
