I don’t think that Trump was trying to disrespect this family, but that’s the message that they received then it is his job to rectify that rather than digging in his heels. It’s really not that hard to be a human being.

I think I understand what you mean, but I think you are wrong because you misunderstand how foreign a creature this moron really is.
Whatever he was trying to do, a fundamental fact is that he has no respect for people like Myeshia Johnson. None. She is a woman. She is black. She is not rich or powerful. She is worthless. I’m not sure he even recognizes her humanity.
The only thing he was trying to do in his conversation with her was to complete an onerous task that was made necessary by his spontaneous bullshitting about previous presidents and condolence calls. He didn’t and doesn’t give a rat’s ass about showing her respect or sympathy or any other normal human feeling.
I think eventually everyone will realize that he is as about as much like us as the creatures that live near hydrothermal vents. He is convincing more of us with each step down the rungs into the abyss.
