I heard about this on the CBC a few years ago and every summer I think about gathering some friends in the car for a day trip. I have yet to actually move out of the “wouldn’t that be fun?” phase.
I am specifically interested in the BTT associated with Wellington-North Township (my googling reveals there are others, one in Niagara for instance). http://www.wellington-north.com/whats-on/butter-tart-trail.aspx There is a link on there to a seemingly well organized map (pdf) that includes hours of operation, addresses and other things of interest for each participant vendor (like no Sunday sales).
Of course, there are other things to do than buy and eat butter tarts (as if that weren’t enough), antiques, farm tours, etc. I am sure it is a lovely drive.
So, I am wondering if any residents of, or visitors to SW Ontario have followed the butter tart trail? Please tell me your tale of delicious discovery.
