Buying a gift for someone that I don't know, have never met and have a $25 cap.

Next weekend, the Ujests and our entourage are going to Chicago for a German American Shooting Club thingie.

As this years Queen of our Club, it is my responsibility to find a gift for the hosting club’s King and Queen.

Our club rules that when the man shoots down the target ( a wooden eagle) he becomes King and his wife is Queen by default.

Other clubs rule is that the Men and Women each shoot for the chance to be King and Queen.

So, since this club has a non-married King and Queen, I need to find something for both of them that is nice and can be put on display.

I was thinking of a vase of the Queen. Something crystal. ( I also thought a nice shawl would be something useful. But I don’t think I can knit one that fast.)

For the guy, I have no clue.
Help.

$25 will buy you a decent pocket knife.

Ooooh, that is a thought. As we are a shooting club. They are a shooting club. Manly men like to hunt and have manly tools…

I will pass this along to His Highness.

The answer to your next question is: Sunflowers.

How about a subscription to “Shooting Stuff Unlimited”?

Or a box of bullets.

Where in Chicago will you be?

Better yet, find out exactly what he shoots and buy him a bullet mold.

Something really cool about handloads.

There are silver bullets available, and I was going to suggest that, but they’re always ten or fifteen bucks over your limit.

Shirley, my dad belongs to such a club. (You’d think that the combination of shooting, beer, and limburgher cheese would prove to be lethal, but so far there have been no documented deaths at our club.)

How about a case of cigars? Or one of those pewter beer steins?
