I like playing around with (toy) guns

I’ve got two of these toy guns (they came in a set)

And I’ve got this toy shotgun

I want to get a toy pistol or replica.

I just like playing around with them. With pistols you can pull the slide thing back and the hammer is cocked and you can fire it without it being loaded. I like how you can eject the magazine and shove one in and it snaps into place. Actually I’m just imaging that based on what I’ve seen in movies… I haven’t had much of a chance to try it myself.

A few years ago I went to a shooting range in a city and for about $100 I could fire about 50 shots with a very small pistol. Even 11 year olds are allowed to fire that one. It had metal on either side to stop people for aiming away from the targets.

Maybe part of this obsession started when I was looking through someone’s toys and found a very old toy pistol that had springs, etc and I accidently broke it…

The thing is though that replicas cost about $300…

I am not quite sure how to respond to this.

Those people in the videos also like playing around with toy guns…

Some people are confused between the difference between a message board and a blog.

I’ve been to an indoor firing range that rents handguns, sells ammo, and loans eye/ear protection. It was a load of fun. I still have one of the human shadow targets, with bullet holes through the head, chest, crotch, etc.

It’s in the correct forum.

I see your point.

A blog has been recommended more than once to this poster as an outlet for his particular…er, needs.

So far, I take it, he hasn’t acted upon this recommendation. So meanwhile, lucky us.

Has there been a recent rule change that compels all members to read and respond to every thread?

Considering how tightly controlled gun ownership is in the UK there’s a surprisingly large number of gun clubs here. I just did a Google search for ones near me and there’s one a few kilometres away that was founded in 1903.

I might give it a go myself actually. I did a little clay – heh, sorry John  – pigeon shooting about 20 years ago and quite enjoyed it, even though I hit very few. Not so sure i would feel comfortable shooting at the real things though as I’m a bit of a wildlife-lover (and wimp).

Do they do clay pigeon shooting anywhere near you JohnClay? Is it called the same thing in the USA?

Yes. Don’t you read the memos, or the notices posted in the breakroom?

Farg.

Skeet shooting on this side of the pond. I’ve done it, but there’s not much meat on those things.

There are actually several games that involve busting clay discs.

The title of this forum is "Mundane Pointeless Stuff I Must Share (MPSIMS). It’s difficult to find any topic more mundane and pointless than the OP, so this surely seems the best place for it.

Toy guns are fun. I play with them all the time with my nephew. My parents have a back yard thats perfect for playing “Lets murder each other.” Lots of trees and rocks to duck behind. It’s really fun when the neighborhood kids come over and we can play, “Lets murder each other. Team Edition.” We usually play that onced you’ve been murdered five times your out and have to wait for the next game of “Lets murder each other.”

I bought some vintage 1960’s cap guns on Ebay. They are fun to shoot in the backyard. Brings me back to my 11th birthday.

Completely harmless and legal AFAIK But I would never show these in public today. Not even in my own front yard. They look too realistic.

Mine uses the stick on caps. The caps on a roll always seemed to jam. But are fun if you can find a toy that will feed them without jamming.

Heres a nice old cowboy gun. Modified with the orange plug to identify it as a toy.

I move for a forum name change: John Clay Say

I said this yesterday, and I repeat it now: if you don’t have anything to add to the topic of a thread, keep mum. If you object to the poster’s very existence and everything he stands for, use the Pit to vent your spleen

But unless you would like us to permit attacks upon YOU for the content of your (permissible) threads, this is a reminder that threadshitting is not allowed. Any more of this type thing and I’ll be issuing warnings.

When my son was10 or so,he was into very real looking toy guns. Looking around online,I see that they were airsoft guns. I remember warning him about not taking them out in public.
