Buying bike parts online

I’m currently in need of a few odds and ends to fix up my bike. Unfortunately, I can’t just go to the local cycling shop, since there aren’t any out here in BFE, Ohio. Can anyone point me to reputable and affordable online shops? I don’t need anything fancy, just basics like brake pads/shoes and cables to get my aging department-store bike rolling (and stopping) again. Thanks.

I have used Speedgoat in the past with very good luck. Good people, knowledgeable customer service and quick shipping.

Bike Nashbar and Performance Bike are probably the best known mail-order bike shops. They’re actually owned by the same parent company so the selection and prices are pretty much the same. They usually have decent prices. They ship fast if you use 3-day or faster shipping method; they can be pretty slow if you choose ground shipping.

I also like Cambria Bicycle Outfitter and JensonUSA; they cater more towards bike enthusiasts. They have wider selections than Nashbar/Performance, and their web site has more technical details.
