I wasn’t sure if this was MPSIMS or GQ material, so I’ve stuck it in here and am hoping for the best. I’m going to go to Thailand in a week and wondered if this would be a good opportunity to pick up some electronic goodies cheaply, such as an ipod or laptop computer.
Do these things tend to be cheaper in the far east?
It depends on where you are from.
If you are coming from the US, then you will find that everything computer related is more expensive in Thailand except software (yes, even legit software is cheaper).
If you want to pick up some computer gear in Bangkok, grab a cab and go to Pantip Plaza on Thanon Petchburi. It is a mecca for all computer stuff from hardware to pirated (or legit) software. If you can’t find it there, you won’t find it in Thailand.
