Buying Jewelry Online

Went jewelry shopping for my girl friend today and while I found a few things I liked I wanted to see what other options I could find online. Problem is the only places I really know of for online shopping are the same places I visited today in the brick and mortar form. I’m curious if any Dopers have had experience with buying jewelry online and what places you can suggest, essentially I am looking for any reputable retailers that I would not have run across as brick and mortar stores in a small city.

Anything is good, but if it helps she specifically likes Celtic designs so I am keeping my eye out for those.

And, yes I know I am quite a bit late for this whole shopping for presents things, but we’re not exchanging gifts for a couple weeks after Christmas so I have a little bit of time.

Can I ride on your coattails and also ask if anybody can suggest a good dealer of vintage jewelry online? Somebody you can vouch for?

I don’t know about Celtic or vintage, but amaranth gallery (www.amaranthgallery.com I think) makes inexpensive “museum quality” (whatever that means) jewelry based on Asian designs (I got my wife a nice jade pendant with a good luck symbol on it awhle ago). Might do Celtic, too.

Black Horse Design makes Celtic jewelry. I’ve ordered several (non-Celtic) pieces from Carmon and spoken to her on the phone. I’ve liked everything I’ve ordered from her.

There’s also Celtic Jewelry. I’ve not ordered from them, but I have seen some of the jewelry that someone else ordered and it seems very nice.

My husband and I bought our wedding rings through Antique Jewelry Mall, and had a terrific experience. I should note that we bought the stone in my engagement ring separately, but the rings themselves are lovely, exactly as depicted, and the customer service was great.

Thanks for the links so far. That Celtic Jewelry one has several pieces I am serioulsly considering now.

None the less I am still open to more suggestions if anyone has them.
