Where do men get wedding rings?

After a couple of years, my wife has found a wedding ring she likes and is buying it. It’s a ring from the 1920s that she found online. Now, I’m supposed to get my ring. I’ve never worn a ring in my life and I don’t even know where to look. I’d like something different, maybe also from the 20s, but not with any stones or flash.

I’m an American living in Asia, but I could buy something online and get it sent to my sibling’s house in the US. I’d appreciate any guidance on buying man jewelery.

A jeweler?

There was an independent jeweler, friend of mine, that I would have bought rings from, but he’s dead now.

Go to a jeweler to get your size. if you see a ring you like there, buy it there. If not, buy a ring on e-bay. Search for "wedding band white gold 8"or whatever your size and preferred metal is.

A ring from the 1920’s? Link please!

She bought her ring at www.topazery.com. I’d like to get something with some unique character and I’m hoping someone can point me to some cool websites. The thing is, I’ve spent exactly 0 minutes prior to today thinking about rings. All I know is I don’t want to spend the rest of my life with something boring around my finger.

Obviously I don’t know you or your tastes, so I’ll just put this out there. If, as you say, you’ve never worn a ring in your life but don’t want stones or flash, I’d recommend just getting a simple plain band- white or yellow gold, or platinum. You don’t sound like you’re much of a jewelry guy so I’d be afraid of getting something that is cool to you now but in 10 years you might think- what the hell did I do, I should have gotten something plainer.

A ring that’s cool to you now might suffer from having the ‘cool’ wear off over time, but a fairly plain band will always look good. JMO, YMMV.

Oh- and if that’s what you get, you should be able to find one at just about any jeweler, brick & mortar or online.

When we eventually get around to making it official, I’ll be buying The Boy’s ring from a Canadian jeweller called Karen Konzuk.

She makes rings with very clean modern lines, using unusual materials like concrete or stainless steel, and more traditional ones like platinum… unfortunately, it seems like my browser isn’t liking her site much because half the pages are only partially loading, but it shouldn’t be hard to find some examples of her work on other sites (she’s often featured on design blogs like Moco Loco and NotCot).

They’re definitely different, and the furthest possible thing from flashy you can get.

Hey y’all, madmonk28 lives in Banda Aceh. There probably aren’t a hell of a lot of brick and mortar jewelers there. I think he’s asking for recommendations to specific online jewelers.

Wish I could help, but I got nothin’.

I got the parts for my engagement ring separately and had a local jeweler set the stone, but my husband and I both got our bands from this site. The prices are great and the shipping is very fast.

I got a standard band and the engagement ring was from a designer. We had the jeweler make a wedding band for my wife that matches the engagement ring.

It cost less than what they were selling as a set and looks better - the band isn’t notched and can be worn alone. She gets compliments on it all of the time.

I got mine from a pawnshop.

I got mine from my grandpa.

Mine’s an old beer tab.

we also had a jeweler make a wedding ring to match my engagement ring, and he made a matching band for my husband at the same time

James Avery is established, trustworthy and of good quality. While I bought from a store and was very pleased, they’re also online… James Avery.com.

Timely thread link

That’s were mine came from. Highly recommended.

This is what I wear.

For historically inspired jewelry, I’ve had good luck with medievaljeweler.com - medievaljeweler Resources and Information. don’t let the name fool you, she does more the just medieval

Me to. Maybe it isn’t very romantic but this was going to be the second marriage for both of us. She was the one who suggested it so don’t call me cheap. She also found hers there. They also did engraving.

Just go to the nearest pawnshop with a large crackhead population. Not surprisingly the pawn shop had a huge selection of wedding rings and other jewelry for about 1/3 of the price as a jewelry store.

Thanks all, I’ll check out the links.
