I read some of the Mars novels, and attempted “Carson of Venus.” I am not faint of heart. I finished Rex Stout’s Under the Andes. Is there continuity between the Mars and Venus novels? I seem to remember some mention of one within a novel of the other.
The connection between the Mars and Venus novels is slender, at best. I read the both series’ in their entirety and, frankly, the Venus series is a waste of time, IMO. ERB just didn’t seem to be “into it” the way he was when writing about Barsoom or Tarzan.

Yes, now I get it, as long as the Mediterranean hinterlands include, in no particular order, the steppes of Central Asia, the high seas, Scandinavia, the Sahara, the Arctic, sub-Saharan Africa (especially the upper reaches of the Nile), the Great Plains, and an assortment of Greek city-states.
