Buzz Lightyear of Barsoom?

I read some of the Mars novels, and attempted “Carson of Venus.” I am not faint of heart. I finished Rex Stout’s Under the Andes. Is there continuity between the Mars and Venus novels? I seem to remember some mention of one within a novel of the other.

The connection between the Mars and Venus novels is slender, at best. I read the both series’ in their entirety and, frankly, the Venus series is a waste of time, IMO. ERB just didn’t seem to be “into it” the way he was when writing about Barsoom or Tarzan.

I may have phrased this clumsily. When I read Tros of Samothrace, the background of the stories was of a guy knocking around the Mediterraneian and hinterlands like Britain in a world dominated by Rome. When I read Gor novels, I get the same impression, except substitute “Ar” for “Rome” and “Gor” for “the Mediterranean and hinterlands.” When I read about the Barsoom, I do not get this feeling. For better of for worse, the Barsoom is its own planet. It’s much more of an original creation, slapdash though it is in certain respects.

Yes, now I get it, as long as the Mediterranean hinterlands include, in no particular order, the steppes of Central Asia, the high seas, Scandinavia, the Sahara, the Arctic, sub-Saharan Africa (especially the upper reaches of the Nile), the Great Plains, and an assortment of Greek city-states.
