Buzz Lightyear toy travels to outer space on ISS

Buzz Lightyear literally went “To Infinity and Beyond” on the International Space Station, as part of the “Toys in Space” program co-sponsored by NASA and The Walt Disney Company. Although Buzz realizes he is just a toy, he trained very hard for his mission, and was brought up along with the crew of mission STS-124 on May 31. Although most of the crew is back home on Earth, Buzz stayed behind with engineer Gregory Chamitoff. The two of them helped open the newest attraction at Disneyland, Toy Story Mania, on Wednesday. Buzz plans to stay on the ISS for six months, after which he may receive a congratulatory parade at Walt Disney World. As you can see, Buzz enjoys being in space for real. Hopefully, Buzz will be able to readjust to being on Earth in time for Disney’s 3D re-releases of his starring roles, which will lead up to the release of Toy Story 3 in 2010.

That wasn’t flying.

That was free-falling with style.

That’s cool. I hadn’t heard about that. All I kept reading about were the toilets
