Bye-bye Ashcroft!

From Fox News: Meanwhile, Attorney General John Ashcroft (search) is expected to turn in his resignation, sources told FOX News. Ashcroft has, for months, signaled his desire to leave the Justice Department, sources said, and he could leave as early as January.

Not nearly soon enough for me, you sancimonious pig-fucker!

Let the boobies of Justice be seen again across the land!

It’s a sad commentary that my first reaction was not elation but rather, “Oh god, they’re only going to appoint someone worse.”

Of course, this could all be part of the plan to have him appointed to the Supreme Court. MWHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Oh, happy day! Oh, frabjous joy! Ding dong the witch is dead!

Awaiting the new witch…

First good news I’ve had in three days.

White House counsel Alberto Gozalez seems to have the inside track. Worse may be an understatement.

Is there a link? I want to believe, but have had a blow or two to my optimism of late.

After Janet Waco (for whom Americans were clay pigeons) and John Asshole (for whom Americans were obscene whores), how much worse could it be?

Well, if that isn’t a chilling thought. I almost threw up a little in my mouth.

Care to shed a little more light? Is this guy really bad? I know nothing about him.

It’ll be interesting to see, if that happens, some lefty Dopers pining for the days of Ashcroft.

Don’t ask. I am sure with minimal effort that the administration could top him. <sigh>

WooooooooT

Or maybe not:

Gonzales would have to explain what went on when he wrote the memo suggesting that Bush and Rumsfeld could blow off the Geneva Conventions on the grounds of “quaintness”. Fuhgeddaboutit.

That’s interesting… I have always assumed that Rudy Giuliani would get the nod, to position him for 2008. We’ll have to see…

That was my thought as well.

The assumption I’ve seen is that Giuliani’s running for Governor of NY in 2006.

I only have time for a drive-by post right now - I’ll look for cites in an hour or two if not beaten to it. Gonzalez authored the opinions that detainees did not need to be treated as POWs, and that torture was OK.

You know I wouldn’t mind Guiliani, except I just read about Stanley Milgram’s shock experiments. I think anyone who takes the job is fucked.

'nuff said.
