BYOBW- Bring Your Own Big Wheel and race them down Lombard St, to the peril of many.

Yesterday was the 6th Annual BYOBW Easter shindig, at San Francisco’s Lombard St, “the Crookedest Street in the World.”* Around 4:00 yesterday, a bunch of people took their Big Wheels to the top of Lombard, and when the first Cable Car stopped at the top to let off and collect highly-confused tourists, everyone let fly. Rubber wheels are not allowed. The magical trifecta of plastic + brick + rain is essential for maximum carnage )and therefore, hilarity).

It’s a bit unorganized, as one could imagine, but here are some good starting points for pictures:

*-It’s not even the crookedest street in San Francisco, but that’s another thread.

Kinda makes you wonder how much different of a movie Bullitt might have been if the San Fran chase scene had involved Big Wheels instead of a Mustang and Charger.

The Straight Dope must field a team for this event next year!
