So I see this woman parading all over my TV lately talking about Allan Iverson’s horrible lyrics, and how the music industry is horrible, and essentially once again getting her ugly wrinkled mug all over the media because someone put some words to music and she didn’t like those words.

Why on earth does the media kowtow to this hypocrite?

Is this not the same person whose career in state government was halted because of her constantly putting her own personal agenda in front of what tax payers were paying her to do?

Is this not the same person who sued the estate of the dead rapper Tupac claiming that his lyrics “ruined her sex life with her husband?”

Isn’t this the same woman who has had similar frivilous law suits against the likes of Time, Newsweek and writers for those magazines thrown out of courts like the above one was?

Isn’t this the same woman who "is being sued by both Interscope and Death Row Records for alleged extortion, threats and illegal business practices?

“Apparently Tucker tried to induce Death Row Records (who is distributed by Interscope) to cut all its distribution ties with Interscope and join a new label she would form. At an alleged meeting with Death Row’s Suge Knight at the home of psychic hotline ripoff/Aids Benefit scam artist, Dionne Warwick, Tucker allegedly promised Knight $80 million in start up funds from Time-Warner for this new label. Funny… For someone who seems hellbent on cencoring the speech of others, she certainly has no problems excercising her free speech. I wonder how she would like it if someone took away her rights to blather on and extort the companies and people she reviles?

And fuck the media who runs to this hypocritical douchebag any time someone writes some “bad lyrics” and allows her to say how horrible these words are when her ACTIONS (which are much stronger than words, no?) show her to be nothing but a publicity-houding, money-grubbing, law-breaking liar.

I really don’t blame her… I sure wanna censor all songs that bother me… anything from Britney Spears, N’Sync, the Backstreet Boys… their lyrics are just dirty :smiley:

Aren’t you falling into a bit of a double standard as well, defending free speech but criticizing her for airing her views?

You did cite several cases where her actions (and not just her words) were objectionable. And when her actions are fraudulent or illegal, I hope the victims will fight back and the public will condemn her.

I haven’t seen or heard Ms. Tucker (and from your OP, I don’t know how I could have missed her), and if she’s as bad as you say I don’t begin to share her views. I just think that double standard has to be remembered and avoided. If the protections of free speech are most needed when the speech is offensive, is there any clearer case than this woman herself?

No, I was pointing out the irony.

I was never critical of her for expressing the views. I was critical of those views themselves in light of what she is trying to accomplish (that there’s the ironic/hypocritical part) and the media’s willingness to let her express them in a national forum, which is NOT guaranteed as a freedom, or else more people would hear my words too… :wink:
